We use our International High Lift Truck for most re-roof projects. It keeps the job site clean, easier to load and unload materials, and keeps the crew safer. At the end of the day we head back to the shop leaving the driveway and garage available to the owner. No Dumpsters.
Call for a quote on your roof!

Away from salt water locations they last a long time. Beachside in Brevard county the salt in our cool ocean breeze will oxidize (rust) galvanized steel. Aluminum will resist that corrosive action, stainless steel and copper will also, but are a bit more expensive.</p><p><br /></p><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjkDG2yY_j0xDtfo0pQYyfGM-LbOzgDwih3v83m-vV4-uAAHgNEx_res4Gt8Y6fnKZP6S5gkmhqDPdIW9FIzz_aJEd_V3yPpL_sq2RlcFbNQPpxCYiqb_-Y_k_BOJkqGiBXxedgIvC5o_oiR75-XoIVQPum4ETkTpwHNyISTB9qcpeNaV63d7oe3Ib/s5152/IMG_0001.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="3864" data-original-width="5152" height="240" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjkDG2yY_j0xDtfo0pQYyfGM-LbOzgDwih3v83m-vV4-uAAHgNEx_res4Gt8Y6fnKZP6S5gkmhqDPdIW9FIzz_aJEd_V3yPpL_sq2RlcFbNQPpxCYiqb_-Y_k_BOJkqGiBXxedgIvC5o_oiR75-XoIVQPum4ETkTpwHNyISTB9qcpeNaV63d7oe3Ib/s320/IMG_0001.JPG" width="320" /></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiEsR0CUzR70frZSCzHLS-mqKTqzfiNyBU_tyyVq3sXkZppnWTQJbIrCkBOGmdwbCcVrFWWl5q3YkQv6NG102VFPRn_u2-WEOPdk1LgFYrUT2wic9Shp5Be9bISp7vpvR1yw-UlO_SV5OpQ6iJnZkfeIqCJtAmDe9JyaG1kuRqeFCkadniDMAA-JTG/s5152/IMG_0003.JPG" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" data-original-height="5152" data-original-width="3864" height="320" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiEsR0CUzR70frZSCzHLS-mqKTqzfiNyBU_tyyVq3sXkZppnWTQJbIrCkBOGmdwbCcVrFWWl5q3YkQv6NG102VFPRn_u2-WEOPdk1LgFYrUT2wic9Shp5Be9bISp7vpvR1yw-UlO_SV5OpQ6iJnZkfeIqCJtAmDe9JyaG1kuRqeFCkadniDMAA-JTG/s320/IMG_0003.JPG" width="240" /></a></div><br /><p>We recently replaced these two galvanized attic vents. This job in North Melbourne was hot hot hot. It was the original roof from 1988 or so. The loose granules made this 6/12 a bit difficult. The guys all wear Cougar Paws, so that helpedjkbehanhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15352512211253953491noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-582381047497569072.post-58474411535968211932017-06-26T15:27:00.000-04:002017-06-26T15:48:09.608-04:00Re-roofing in Florida's rainy season<table align="center" cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto; text-align: center;"><tbody>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">when roofing in Florida during the rainy season (if you are in doubt when that is... right now, you are in it!) you Better have some plastic ready to go quick. A roll of plastic may cost $100 (for 6 mil), that is the cheapest insurance you can buy. We may precut the piece to length before it even threatens rain, Not too long ago, a roofer in Orlando got caught with his pants down (no plastic), 6PM news loved showing the videos of the collapsed ceilings, angry customers, very preventable with a little fore thought</td></tr>

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"> Notice the large gaps between the boards, although 1x12 is a good structural decking, it does not make a good subtrate for shingles. The nails in the shingles can fall in the gaps, leaving a nice hole for leaks. The boards can also twist and cup, popping the nails, again, a new entry point for water.</td></tr>

The answer to that question is multifaceted. Leaks in the roof, age of the roof, and cost is a big factor.<br />
Leaks in the eaves can damage plywood, fascia, soffit, and trusses.<br />
<br />
<br />

<tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;">no leaks in the house, plenty at the edges</td></tr>

<br />
<br />
Leaks in the home can do similar wood damage and also create serious health issues with possible mold growth. Repairs to older roofs can be difficult and that would be part of the equation<br />
